Pretty In Polish: Highlight & Strobing

Sometimes contouring your face can be too intense for day to day wear. If I wake up late for work the last thing I want to do is carve out my check bones in a 3x darker than my skin tone powder.

Strobing is the latest make up trend which is a less intense and less time-intensive way to highlight and define your face. Nothing beats fresh, dewy, radiating skin! Instead of painting your face with graphic lines of bronzer and foundation, all you will need is an illuminating highlighter.

I've read so many bloggers reviews on the best product, and after buying and testing several of them out, my favourite has to be "Glow Highlighter" in  "Polish" by Topshop. It's one of the most affordable products and the most long lasting.

How to highlight: With your finger, apply generous amounts on to the top of your check bones,  the bridge of your nose, below your brow bone and at the corner of your eyes before blending it out with a sponge. (I also like to apply the product to my cupids bow to make my lips look bigger!)

My Dream Bedroom

We moved into our new home in July and it's honestly the best decision we have ever made. We always talked about getting our own place and one afternoon we just drove down to a showroom to have a look and see what are options were. Within the week we had chosen which plot we wanted and had reserved it. It all happened so quickly but it was the perfect time for us and the perfect location for both of our jobs. We bought the land before the house was built and had the opportunity to chose all of the fixtures and fittings along the way, including the floors, tiles, kitchen and bathrooms.

Since then we have been furnishing the house room by room, starting from the ground floor and working our way to the top. Our bedroom is one of the last rooms in the house to furnish so I have been using Pinterest to give me some ideas. Still unsure about what colours to introduce into the rooms as the walls are white and carpets/tiles are grey. Above are some of my favourite styles.

Today I'm loving.. 2016

Happy New Year! So here's the first post of 2016 and I have to apologize that it's not the most creative. Still feeling slightly sorry for myself due to last nights antics! None the less I am feeling positive with the year to come and all that I have planned for my blog.

My first resolution of the year has been to make more time and put more effort into my posts. It is easy to say "I'll do that later" or "That will do" but I have come to realize that quality is definitely more important than quantity. I know that I need to start scheduling posts to make it more manageable with every day life.

My second resolution is to start a YouTube channel. I get asked on Instagram for hair & make up tutorial's and have never been brave enough to sit down and film one. I welcome any tips or ideas that any of you have to offer!

I hope you all had a fabulous New Years Eve and wish you all the love, luck and happiness for the coming year!
